"It happened in the second year of the reign of LaPierre President to Elder Hawk , having spent many afflictions yet still highly favored of the Lord gave birth to a son ..."
That´s right. They sent us a child. haha There was a small emergency and there had to be some changes, so President sent me and Elder Graves a missionary who recently finished a month in the mission. He is way cool, but has passed through some pretty rough times in his first change. I talked to him a lot when he got here and I think he is starting to do a lot better. We are doing our best to help him and he is going to be a great missionary. It is kinda weird being in a trio, but it is way fun to have three people in the apartment. haha
So this week we had a huge miracle. We went to visit a less active sister in our ward and she is a widow of like 2 years and we talked to her and she said she can´t go to church cause she fell and hurt her toe and head. She has been messed up for like 7 months and she showed us her toe and it was pretty repulsive. Like twice as big as the other one, because of all of this she has trouble walking. So we gave her a blessing and she thanked us. I don´t remember everything we said but we said that according to her faith she would be able to go to church and keep all of the commandments. So we went back 4 days later and her toe was completely back to normal. She told us that she could walk and dance and jump and she was very emotional. She said that she had never experienced anything like that in her life and it was what she needed to pass the test of her husband passing and her poor health. She came to church on Sunday and payed her tithing. It was way awesome to be a part of such a huge miracle. I know that the priesthood is real.
We also had divisions this week with Ituzaingo. It is this sweet beach city and probably the only part of the mission that doesn´t have red dirt. It is all beautiful white sand! It rained super hard for like an hour and I got soaked! But then it stopped and the sun came out. We helped this lady move bunch of wood by the side of her house and although she didn´t want anything to do with us, we had a good conversation and her neighbor invited us over. The neighbor was awesome and she is actually the mother of a less active member. She has a lot of desire to keep learning to help her family.
The ward continues to grow. We had ward council on Sunday for the first time in I´m not sure how long. We presented a lot of good ideas and the ward members are way excited. We are having a lot of success with less active members who we had never even heard of before but who just kind of showed up and started progressing. We have been incredibly blessed in our time here! I hope that I get to stay, but for some reason I feel like I may be going. We will see what happens though. I love it here. I love being a missionary and I am going to make the most out of these last 6 months that I have. Thank you for all of your prayers and support! I love you!
Con amor, Elder Hawk
